- Vocodec
I created the Vocodec vocal processor for live use by my alter-ego, Owen Lake. I wanted a simple multi-effect vocal "pedal" that I could put on a stand and use while singing, but nothing on the market served my needs. I designed the Vocodec using my Genera Brain DSP board and the LEAF audio DSP library that my lab at Princeton has developed (with significant contributions from Matt Wang and Mike Mulshine). I'd like to release it as a product with Snyderphonics, at some point.
There are currently a few prototypes in existence, being tested by artists HPrizm, Moor Mother, Amirtha Kidambi, Leila Adu, Dollshot, Palle Dahlstedt, Chris Douthitt, and Lainie Fefferman, in addition to the ones Owen Lake uses live, and the ones used in my lab to experiment with new firmware.
